High School Placement Test
All freshman applicants are required to take the High School Placement Test on one of two Saturdays in January.

The Visit Mitty Program is available from September to December to current 8th graders interested in spending a day at Archbishop Mitty High School. Registration is online.

Archbishop Mitty High School is a Catholic college preparatory and preference is given to Catholic applicants. Admission to Archbishop Mitty High School is comprehensive; in particular, the Admissions Committee considers the following criteria when making admissions decisions:
- 7th and 8th grade grades (No marks lower than C; a grade point average of 3.0 or higher is also strongly recommended)
- Standardized testing scores from junior high and the High School Placement Test
- Teacher recommendations
- Student-reported activities and special talents
